About Us

Watermark Counseling in Sandy, Utah is so named because a watermark is a permanent mark that signifies both quality and authenticity. It’s also an indicator of value. We value our clients and are sincerely dedicated to the process of providing quality mental health care. We care about the relatability of issues and normalizing the often complex human experience. We’re confident good therapy can result in developing post-traumatic growth, practical coping skills, and lifelong healing.

Just as we can identify a watermark, we can also learn to look beyond the immediate challenges and uncertainties in life. Doing so allows us to discover a deeper sense of confidence, peace of mind, and a lasting ability to solve problems. Our approach works to support and amplify your inherent strengths, which may be difficult to recognize on your own but can be discovered through effective therapy.

Our Therapeutic Approach

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy is a client-centered approach that focuses on self-growth, personal strengths, and living a more authentic life. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we help individuals better understand themselves, their emotions, and their values in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Through empathy, acceptance, and open dialogue, humanistic therapy empowers clients to build self-confidence, improve relationships, and make meaningful choices aligned with who they truly are.

Trauma-Informed Care

My work is also grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered, and collaborative approach. Therapy moves at your pace and is guided by your goals, recognizing that healing is not linear. I integrate neuroscience-based concepts, including Polyvagal Theory, alongside attachment, multicultural, and feminist perspectives to support the whole person.

Relational Focused Therapy

Relational therapy focuses on healing through safe, meaningful connection. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a foundation for growth, trust, and repair. This approach can be especially supportive for those navigating attachment wounds or relational trauma, offering space to build healthier ways of relating to self and others.

What We Address

We support individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional and relational concerns, including:

Grief can touch every part of life, shifting how you think, feel, and relate to the world after loss. We offer a compassionate space to honor your experience, process what you’ve lost, and find steadiness and meaning as you move forward.

Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, communication breakdowns, or patterns rooted in attachment wounds, therapy can help foster healthier connections — with others and with yourself.

Persistent worry, stress, panic, or feeling emotionally stuck can impact daily life. Therapy offers space to slow down, regulate your nervous system, and develop tools to navigate anxiety with greater ease and clarity.

Major life changes, past experiences, and unresolved trauma can shape how you move through the present. We work gently and intentionally to support integration, resilience, and meaningful growth.
